Privacy policy
photos stay yours- Family photos are used only to illustrate your characters. They are never shared, sold, or used to train anything.
- Photos are deleted from our servers 30 days after your order ships; finalised character art stays in your account.
- Children's data (name, class, DOB) is visible only to you — and to your school if your account is linked to one.
- You can delete your account and all data anytime from Settings, or by writing to [email protected].
- A book link we send on WhatsApp or by email is a personal link: we see when it is opened, which pages are viewed and on what kind of device, and a small cookie tells a second visit from a new reader. An IP address is only ever stored as a one-way hash, which is cleared after 30 days. After 180 days the details of each visit are deleted; only the link’s overall totals (how often it was opened and how much was read) are kept.
- Schools we write to. We collect the publicly listed contact details of preschools (school name, address, email, phone number, website and Instagram account) to tell them about our books by email and WhatsApp. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and replying STOP on WhatsApp stops our messages.
- Our ads on Instagram and Facebook. We may show our ads to these schools through Meta’s Custom Audiences. Email addresses and phone numbers are turned into one-way codes (hashed) before they reach Meta, which uses them only to find matching accounts. A school that unsubscribes, says STOP or asks us to stop is taken out of the audience within a day.
- Messages on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. When you message us or comment on our posts, Meta passes us your message and public profile name so we can reply. We use them only to talk to you.
- Our ads on Google. When you arrive from one of our Google ads, our website uses Google’s tag (Google Ads and Google Analytics) to measure whether the ad led to a free preview or an order. The ad click’s reference and the campaign name are kept with your order so we know which ads work. When you pay for an order, your email address and mobile number are turned into one-way codes (hashed) on our server before they reach Google, which uses them only to match the order to the ad. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are measured without Google cookies. You can turn off personalised Google ads at My Ad Center.
- We never sell personal data.
Terms of use
- You must own the photos you upload and have consent from the adults appearing in them.
- Generated books are for personal / school use — not for resale.
- A syllabus order is confirmed only after every book in the set is individually approved by you.
- School accounts are verified before activation; misuse leads to suspension.
- Data credits: the address forms fill in the town and state from a postal code using GeoNames postal-code data (India’s from India Post), under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence, and list countries and states from the countries-states-cities database, under the Open Database License.
- Prices and currency: outside India, prices may be shown in your own currency, converted from the rupee price and rounded to a clean local price. You pay the total shown at checkout, in the currency shown there; your bank may add its own conversion fee. An order keeps the price it was paid at. Exchange rates: Frankfurter, from central-bank reference rates.
Shipping, refunds & reprints
- Books ship in ~6 working days after order confirmation; school sets ship together on the print-run date.
- Because every book is personalised, orders can't be cancelled once printing starts.
- Printing defects? Send a photo within 7 days of delivery — we reprint free, no questions.
- Wrong name or photo on a page you approved is fixed at cost price for the affected book.
Delivery outside India
- The e-book works everywhere. Printed books are sent by FedEx to the countries shown at checkout; where we can’t deliver yet, checkout says so before you pay.
- The delivery charge is worked out from FedEx’s rate to your address (or our standard rate for your region) and shown at checkout before you pay — once per order, in the currency shown there.
- Delivery times are FedEx’s estimate from the day the book is dispatched; books are dispatched after printing, as above.
- Import duties and taxes, if any, are paid by the recipient on delivery. Printed books are duty-free in most countries, but some charge VAT, GST or a handling fee, which FedEx collects. These are not part of our price and we can’t refund them.
- Give a complete address and a mobile number in that country — FedEx may call it. A parcel returned because the address was incomplete, or because delivery or the duties were refused, can be sent again at the delivery charge; the delivery charge already paid isn’t refunded.
- Printing defects, or a parcel lost or damaged on the way: send a photo or write to us within 7 days of delivery (or of the expected date) — we reprint and send it again free.
- Cash on delivery is for India only; orders abroad are paid online.
Delete your data
- Parents: open Settings in your bukkid account and choose Delete account. This removes your account, your children’s profiles, photos and books.
- Anyone else (a school we wrote to, or someone who messaged us on Instagram, Facebook or WhatsApp): email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my data” from the email address or phone number we have, or send us “Delete my data” on WhatsApp or Instagram.
- We confirm within 7 days and delete your data within 30 days, including from our ad audiences on Meta. Records the law asks us to keep, such as invoices, are kept only for as long as it requires.
